Jacek Lipowczan wurde in Istebna in Süd-Schlesien geboren. Er absolvierte die Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Krakau an der Fakultät für Grafik unter Professor Mieczysław Wejman im Jahr 1976.

Seit Jahr 1981 lebt Jacek Lipowczan außerhalb Polens, zunächst in Schweden und dann in Australien. In Sydney arbeitete er im amerikanischen Zeichentrickfilm - Studio "Hanna Barbera" als „Scene - Designer“

Zurück aus Australien nach Europa, in Deutschland arbeitet er als Grafikdesigner, Art Director und Illustrator bei Verlagen und Werbeagenturen. 

Im Jahr 2004 beschloss er, sich ausschließlich der Malerei zu widmen. Dem heutigen Kunst zum Trotz, in der die Avantgarde die Avantgarde jagt, wächst von Jahr zun Jahr eine Gruppe der Künstler, die in einem ähnlichen wie er Stil malen. Jacek Lipowczan schließt sich ihnen an und wird Mitglied der Internationalen Vereinigung - Society of Art of Imagination in London, deren Ehrenpatron der verstorbene berühmte österreichische Surrealist, Professor Ernst Fuchs war. Er gehört auch zu "Visionary Art Group", gegründet von Otto Rapp in Wien.

Seitdem nimmt Jacek Lipowczan aktiv am künstlerischen Leben teil. Er präsentierte seine Werke auf Ausstellungen in Großbritannien (u.a. in Mall Galleries in London), in der Schweiz (Giger Musem in Gruyere), Deutschland, Österreich (u.a. Fantastenmuseum in Wien), Polen, Frankreich (u.a. 3 mal in Salon d'Automne in Grand Palais, Paris), Italien, Dänemark und den USA. Seine Werke wurden mehrfach in Alben veröffentlicht: in Dänemark herausgegeben wurden in "Imaginaire " 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8 und 9 ", "Dante - the Divine Comedy ", in Wien "Lexikon der Phantastischen Künstler" , in Polen Alben: "Polnische Malerei 2019", "Zeitgenössische Nationale Ikonosphäre", National Museum in Kielce, "Twórcy wizerunku Polonii" (die Imageträger Polonias).

Jaceks Malstil kann als realistisch - surrealistisch - fantastisch bezeichnet werden, auch wenn die Thematik seiner Gemälde ebenfalls stark auf zeitgenössische gesellschaftliche und politische Ereignisse ausgerichtet ist. Seine Bilder sind eine Synthese der Gegenwart, sei es polnisch oder international.

Jacek Lipowczan ist auch ein Inspirator einer für diesen Malstil wichtigen, jede zwei Jahre bei der Galerie Bator in Szczyrk stattfindenden Ausstellung "Magical Dreams".  Diese Ausstellung findet, in diesem Jahr schon zum sechsten Mal, bei mehreren Kunstgalerien und Museen in Polen, Deutschland und Östereich statt.  Es werden immer etwa 30 Künstler aus Polen, Dänemark, Deutschland, Österreich, Frankreich, Italien, USA, Ukraine und Russland eingeladen um an dieser Ausstellung teilzunehmen.

Jacek Lipowczan born in 1951, obtained in 1976 his Master Degree in Graphic Design at the prestigious Academy of Fine Art in Cracow.

Jack travelled extensively, living and working as a scene designer, illustrator, and Art Director in different European countries and in Australia. He finally settled in Germany.

His art profits from his life experience and in reality resist classification. He refers to his style as visionary surrealistic-realism. 

Jacek Lipowczan , a man of considerable intellectual curiosity, very widely read, avidly interested in history and contemporary life, seeks inspiration for his paintings in the worlds of philosophy, ancient cultures, mythology and literature but his work reflects the contemporary.

His paintings are full of fantasy and allegories and there are many apparently different stories in each painting, alike was the manner of medieval icon painters, and only all themes together form a complete artistic statement. In his technique he “analyses the old masters”, the composition of paintings and colour, the way they depicted nature, emotions, and light and what techniques they used to achieve the desired effect. Jacek does not imitate them but uses the same technique of painting in oils and glaze that demands a profound professionalism, time, perfection and patience.
